Build a Website With No HTML Experience

Guide - Page -1- | -2- | -3- | -4- | -5- | -6- | -7- | -8-

The Basic Steps are:

  1. Register a Domain Name
  2. Set up a Hosting Plan
    Next Step:
  3. Get a Template, or Webpage Builder Software, or NOT
  4. Obtain or Create Graphics
  5. Create and/or Customize the Home Page
  6. Copy for Each Additional Web Page and Customize
  7. Upload the Files to the Hosting Server Account
  8. Test, Modify, Upload - Repeat Until Done

Step 3 - Get a Template or Use Web Building Software - or NOT

Unless you already know HTML, the main language used on the Internet, you should plan to begin with a little foundation.

I provide a free template, sample logo, and "ALittleHTMLGuide" for you to get started. Download and instructions are in "ALittleHTMLGuide".

With this free template and guide you can learn enough to see what you can do without buying anything else. You can work the little tutorial and display your own webpage in less than an hour. It helps to know what you can do with simple HTML first.

There are also many pre-built Templates that you can get for a small investment. You might want to change or load your own graphics and text. Some are very good quality and very professional looking. They can be limiting, but very good for beginners.

PLEASE NOTE: I found that most templates expect you to have an expensive graphics software package loaded on your PC for your logo and changes you WILL want to make. If you have it, fine. If not, I don't recommend that you invest hundreds of dollars on one.

There are also several good website builder tools. Many are free from your Hosting Service. If you are a beginner, I suggest you try one to see what it does. You don't need to keep the first webpage you create. Typically, they will not offer you much room for making the changes you will soon want to customize your design and add your products or content.

My favorite web builder tool is xSitePro and it has saved me lots of time. They have several built-in templates and you will see how easy it will be to make your own with xSitePro. Read more about it in Site Development Tools.
