Design Questionaire
Whether you want to "Webmaster Yourself" or use our Custom Design Services, you will want to decide a few things before you proceed to build your website.
Website Purpose
You can proceed quickly with your website once you have made a few decisions.
For a reunion, event or business, your decisions are easier. You can pick colors and titles and logos that exist already for your business or school. Add the news and photos and wah-la!
If you intend to "make money online", you need to choose a niche or product to feature on your website. Sometimes the most difficult step at first is to focus on one thing and do it right.
Studies show that Internet users appreciate a clearly focused website with good products and information centered around a product line, hobby, or virtually any interest. It is best not to make your topic too broad.
Planning Your Website FIRST Saves Time
If you want your visitors to stick around at your website and see all the cool products and information you have for them, your design should be pleasing and easy to navigate.
Fancy graphics is NOT recommended. Statistics prove that fancy graphics are not necessary. Branding, credibility, easy navigation, and content is what Web visitors want to see.
We recommend that you spend some time reviewing other websites and decide what you would like your website to look like initially.
Website Design Questionaire
When you know what purpose, title, and products or events will be featured on your website, you can work on the rest of the Design Questions below.
Design Questions:
- Select one basic color and several additional colors to use in your design for all design elements. These include backgrounds, highlights, titles, text, buttons, panels, and custom creative elements.
- Do you have a Logo or graphic to "brand" your website, or ideas for one? We will discuss branding during our phone interview, if needed.
- Decide on your layout, or get ideas from other websites or templates that you like. I am adding templates here to give you ideas, but your work can be completely customized.
- Provide Titles of your primary events, dates, places, links, product line or theme to create branding, titles, and keywords.
- Number of webpages and catagories for navigation you will need.
- Primary features on event websites, and product categories for business websites.
- Start thinking now about what information you will want in your website Contact Information, FAQ and Privacy Policy pages. These are recommended for every website.
- Start thinking about your content for each page and topic.

REUNION Website:
"Our Class Reunion Website is a real hit! We send in new pictures and stories every day and they are loaded up almost instantly. I hear kudos from everyone and more new stories and photos keep coming in. I only WISH I had the website sooner. It would have saved me so much time. Great Job, Guys!"- Josie G, Reunion Coordinator, Chicago
One month before the reunion event, Josie emailed an update to her planning committee. As the deadlines fast approach for reservations to be in, people on her "Who's Missing List" are emailing in too. Josie entitled her email "They are coming out of the woodwork!"
"Alot of the credit has to go to Karen and Ken Mueller for their outstanding website - - I've had a lot of compliments on it and more than one person said they are coming because of what they saw on that site. . THANK YOU KEN AND KAREN!"
- Josie G, Reunion Coordinator, Chicago
Elementary classmates seem very interested in seeing their oldest school friends. Most of them spent 9 years together in one building. For this reunion 3 consecutive graduation classes are joining together which brings in siblings too. Several teachers who are still living in the area are attending also.
The traffic on BeaubienReunion.com website has increased exponentially as many people find and check the website every day for What's News? right up front. "I enjoy their enthusiasm as I pop in their news and follow along." -Karen

BUT there is some merit to "just getting started"....
Personal note from Karen, Webmaster for ten years, programmer for over 20:
As a programmer and project manager, I know the value of having a design before you begin. Then again, people tend to change their minds after they see the product mockup.
That is why the concept of Rapid Application Development (RAD) became so useful. It can help you "see" what your design looks like, what else should be added, and how it should ultimately look and work. MyMinisites Network will work with you either way you choose.
I enjoy working a design on my C: drive before I load it on my servers for final testing. You can follow "ALittleHTMLGuide" and do it yourself.
Design modifications can be expensive when you decide to modify it several times. This is another good reason why people want to program their websites themselves.
Learn to "Webmaster Yourself" Too
You can have your website online in as little as one day after your Design Questionaire is completed and we talk over the phone a few minutes. We will work with you to brand it with custom banners, graphics and anything else you want. You can still plan to take over all your webmastering tasks yourself. We will work with you until you are ready for up to 90 days.
Using our online instructions and examples here at MyMinisites.net, you can learn how to add links, graphics and content yourself to sell products or change your text information. You will know how to keep your website fresh and do your own changes anytime you want.
If you want an Internet Business website, you should know that fresh content draws the search engines and continually increases your rankings and positions in search results bringing you natural visitors. You can use state-of-the-art methods to advertise online. That is where you will want to spend most of your cash and credit - for marketing campaigns.
